“In terms of Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015… Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has been declared as successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding,” the company said in the filing.
The project involves the setting up of a 150 MW/300 MWh battery energy storage system at the 400/220 kV Kalikiri substation in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
The filing described the project as part of the “selection of battery energy storage developers for setting up of cumulative capacity of 2,000 MWh (1,000 MW x 2 hrs.) standalone battery energy storage system in the selected substations of APTRANSCO, Andhra Pradesh for ‘on demand’ usage.”
The BESS project will be implemented under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model and is supported by viability gap funding through the Power System Development Fund (PSDF), the company said.
The project is being developed for substations of APTRANSCO, Andhra Pradesh’s state transmission utility.

PowerGrid said it has already received the Letter of Award (LoA) for the project. “The Letter of Award (LoA) has been received by POWERGRID on 29th December 2025,” the filing noted.
Battery energy storage systems are increasingly being deployed to support grid stability and enable higher integration of renewable energy, with several states now adopting competitive bidding frameworks backed by central funding support.
