Pune: Suzlon Group has announced that it has secured its third consecutive order from AMPIN Energy Transition for a 170.1 MW wind power project to be developed in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The deal marks a deepening of the partnership between two homegrown energy firms working together to accelerate India’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
“This continued collaboration reflects a shared vision to enable Indian industry to transition towards a cleaner, more self‐reliant energy future, driven by locally manufactured renewable energy solutions,” Suzlon Group said in a statement on Friday.
As part of the new contract, Suzlon will supply 54 of its S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The turbines will feature Hybrid Lattice Towers (HLT), and the company will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the project — from equipment supply to installation, commissioning, and long-term operations and maintenance services.
This new project takes the total capacity of Suzlon’s orders from AMPIN to 303 MW.
JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, emphasised the importance of decarbonising the country’s power distribution sector. “India’s decarbonisation journey will be won or lost at the distribution level. DISCOMs are the critical link between renewable energy generation and everyday consumption — from industries to households,” he said.
“To empower them with reliable, cost‐efficient clean power is not just a goal — it’s a national imperative. Together, we’re proving that clean energy isn’t just viable—it’s vital, scalable, and transformative for the power sector,” he added.
Vivek Srivastava, CEO of Suzlon’s India Business, described the repeated orders as a validation of the companies’ shared commitment. “Three orders from AMPIN reflect the power of shared mission. Together, we’re committed to a self‐reliant, affordable and sustainable energy future by blending innovation, local manufacturing, and deep sectoral expertise,” he said in the statement.
AMPIN Energy Transition’s CEO and MD, Pinaki Bhattacharyya, noted that the project was a key step toward the company’s long-term targets. “Our continued partnership with Suzlon reflects our confidence in their deep expertise in wind energy and their alignment with India’s self‐reliance goals through local manufacturing,” he said.
“This project is a strategic step forward in AMPIN’s journey toward a 25 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2030,” Bhattacharyya added.
