New Delhi: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday said the government’s vision is that every electric vehicle in the country should be powered by clean energy. “The vision is simple. Every electric vehicle in India should be run on clean energy,” Joshi said while flagging off Refex Mobility’s entry into the Delhi NCR market.

The minister said IREDA was the first public sector enterprise in India to recognise and finance the electric vehicle revolution and to come up with a scheme that provides up to 80 percent financial assistance for both EV fleet owners and those setting up charging infrastructure. “In many ways, Refex’s journey is small but very, very clear reflection of India’s renewable story, both speed, scale and drive to turn ambition into action,” he said. He also emphasised that the next frontier of clean mobility is green hydrogen, adding, “We are laying the groundwork for the next frontier of clean mobility: Green Hydrogen.”
Joshi urged corporates to adopt solar-based charging for their EV fleets to reduce oil imports, cut emissions, and align with ESG goals. “To truly unlock the promise of electric vehicles and smart energy-efficient transportation, we must ensure they are powered by the sun,” he said.
Refex Mobility, the clean mobility arm of Refex Group, formally launched its operations in Delhi NCR with a plan to deploy over 400 all-electric four-wheelers in the region over the next three months. This marks a major milestone in the company’s strategy to expand beyond its existing fleet of 1,400 vehicles operating across Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.
The company currently serves more than 70 corporates across BFSI, IT/ITES, telecom, e-commerce, and startup sectors, supported by 200 employees and a tech-enabled transport management system. Since inception, Refex Mobility has abated 35 lakh kilograms of tailpipe CO₂ emissions.
“Delhi NCR is not just an expansion for us but it is a commitment to scale. Within a couple of quarters, we will create one of the largest corporate clean-mobility fleets in the region,” said Anil Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of Refex Group. “At Refex, we believe in diversification with responsibility, and Green Mobility is one of the most critical pillars of our sustainability journey.”
Echoing this, Anirudh Arun, CEO of Refex Mobility, said: “At Refex Mobility, we are reimagining what reliable and responsible mobility means for India. Our promise is built on three pillars — dependable fleets that corporates can count on, exceptional experiences for every rider, and a deep commitment to sustainability and our driver partners. With our entry into Delhi NCR, we are proud to bring this ethos to the capital, as we continue shaping a cleaner and more trusted future for urban mobility.”
