New Delhi: Norfund, the Norwegian government's development finance institution, has invested USD 100 million (around Rs 950 crore) in AMPIN Energy Transition (AMPIN) to support the company's growth plans. The investment was made through the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund, AMPIN said in a statement on Monday.

AMPIN said it will use the money to grow in two segments: commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy projects and utility-scale renewable energy projects. Part of the funding will also go to its energy transition value chain business.

With this round, AMPIN says it has raised close to USD 1 billion in equity capital in total. According to the company, that equity base will allow it to deploy more than USD 4 billion of capital.
