New Delhi: More than 700 delegates from over 10 countries will gather in Jaipur later this month for the 15th Biennial International Conference & Exposition of the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists (SPG), a flagship global event for advancing exploration technologies and geoscience innovation.

Scheduled from October 26 to 28, 2025, at the Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre and Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), SPG 2025 will be held under the theme “Rock to Cloud: Geo-Exploration Empowering Energy Evolution,” said Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in a statement on Friday. The conference comes at a critical juncture as India steps up its deepwater exploration efforts to secure long-term energy supplies amid a projected doubling of energy demand by 2040.
The three-day event will serve as a forum for industry leaders, scientists, and technologists to deliberate on cutting-edge geophysical tools, data analytics, and digital innovations shaping the next generation of hydrocarbon exploration. The technical programme will span seismic acquisition and imaging, reservoir characterisation, and AI-driven subsurface modelling, with a special emphasis on deepwater exploration case studies and advancements in seismic processing.
The accompanying SPG 2025 Exhibition will showcase a range of next-generation exploration technologies, including AI-powered interpretation platforms, cloud-based data ecosystems, and high-performance computing tools aimed at improving prediction accuracy and shortening exploration cycles.
Beyond the technical sessions, SPG 2025 will feature a Geoscience Career Symposium connecting emerging professionals with leading energy companies, and a Business Programme promoting collaboration between industry and technology providers. Global experts will also lead Continuing Education Courses focused on deepwater geoscience and digital transformation in exploration.
Set against the backdrop of Jaipur’s cultural heritage, the event will also include a Cultural Evening and Spouse Programme to showcase Rajasthan’s traditions and hospitality.
