New Delhi: Sugs Lloyd Limited, a diversified EPC power company, on Tuesday announced that it has secured a turnkey contract worth Rs 85.45 lakh from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL), one of Gujarat’s leading power distribution utilities. The project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of advanced Fault Passage Indicators (FPIs) aimed at strengthening DGVCL’s distribution network.

The company said the contract underscores its strategic expansion in Gujarat, which it sees as a key growth market for India’s power infrastructure.

Enhancing grid resilience

The project will focus on enhancing grid resilience by deploying state-of-the-art FPIs across DGVCL’s 7 KV to 13 KV overhead lines. According to Sugs Lloyd, the technology is critical for reducing outage times and improving operational efficiency, aligning with national objectives for a more reliable power grid.

The deployment will be executed on a turnkey basis and is scheduled to be completed within two months of mobilisation. FPIs will be installed at strategic intervals to enable real-time fault detection and location, addressing utilities’ pain points by minimising revenue losses from outages and improving consumer satisfaction.

Strategic win

“For Sugs Lloyd, this is a strategic win that reinforces our position as a trusted partner for grid modernization,” said Santosh Shah, Chairman of Sugs Lloyd. “It reflects our ability to deliver high-impact EPC solutions that contribute not only to our clients’ operational excellence but also to the broader modernisation of India’s power sector. This contract is a direct result of our focused strategy to expand our high-margin power distribution portfolio.”

This project with DGVCL is a testament to our execution capabilities and engineering expertise in grid automation. It provides a repeatable model that we can deploy with other utilities across the country as they invest in resilience and smart grid technologies.”
