Mumbai: JSW Energy Ltd on Monday said it has commissioned 85 MW of renewable energy capacity, comprising 74 MW of solar (including part of the NHPC hybrid project) and 11 MW of wind, taking its total installed capacity to 13,295 MW.

With this addition, renewables now account for 57 percent of JSW Energy’s total capacity, including 3,720 MW of wind, 2,286 MW of solar, and 1,631 MW of hydro assets, the company said in a statement.

Locked-in capacity reaches 30.5 GW

JSW Energy said its total locked-in generation capacity now stands at 30.5 GW, which includes 13.3 GW operational, 12.5 GW under construction across thermal and renewable projects, and 150 MW under acquisition in hydro. The company also has a pipeline of 4.6 GW in various stages of development.

The company’s energy storage portfolio totals 29.4 GWh, comprising 26.4 GWh of hydro pumped storage projects and 3.0 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Company targets 30 GW by FY30, carbon neutrality by 2050

JSW Energy reaffirmed its goal of reaching 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030, and of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

“The commissioning of new renewable capacity strengthens our progress toward the company’s 2030 and 2050 sustainability milestones,” the statement said.
