The company said it emerged as the winning bidder in an e-reverse auction conducted by SECI. The auction was held on August 6 under SECI's 1,000 MW FDRE round-the-clock renewable energy tender.
FDRE tenders require developers to pair renewable generation with storage so that supply matches the reliability profile of thermal generation. The statement described the SECI tender as among India's most innovative renewable procurement tenders.
The project will be built in Rajasthan, according to the statement. It will be connected to the national grid. The company said the project will be backed by a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI.
Juniper Green said the project will draw on its development capabilities across solar, wind and battery storage. The company said this combination would allow it to deliver consistent and reliable power.
The award adds an incremental installed capacity of 795 MWp of solar, 75 MW of wind and 2,200 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity to the company's FDRE portfolio, according to the statement.
