New Delhi: ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has announced that it has placed an order for 2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with Chuzhou Lishen New Energy Technology Co Ltd. The procurement will be executed through Posco International Corporation and China FAW Group Import and Export Co. Ltd, the company said in a statement on Monday.

Order to support FDRE and standalone projects

The order is slated for phased delivery over the next six to 10 months, and the systems will be deployed across ACME Solar’s Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) and standalone BESS projects. These projects are scheduled to be commissioned over the next 12 to 18 months.

Nikhil Dhingra, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ACME Solar, said the move strengthens the company’s project pipeline. “With this latest order, ACME Solar’s cumulative BESS procurement surpasses 5 GWh, following a previous order of 3.1 GWh BESS placed in July 2025. This strategic purchase will ensure timely availability of BESS system, playing a key role in de-risking project commissioning timelines and accelerating overall project delivery,” he noted.

Global partners see Indian market as promising

Jason Lee, Director at Posco International, described the partnership as a landmark step. “This is the big step forward for us to Indian market which is the most promising BESS market in the world. With this opportunity we will diversify our partnership with the market leading enterprise, ACME, and enlarge our biz activities in India,” he said.
