Gurugram: ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has been awarded a 450 MW–1800 MWh assured peak power project under SJVN’s FDRE-IV tender at a tariff of Rs 6.75 per unit for 25 years, the company said in a statement on Tuesday. The project, awarded on November 10, follows a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process in which an e-reverse auction was conducted on October 9, 2025, and the Letter of Award (LoA) was received the following month.

Designed for peak-hour reliability

The project will supply power equivalent to 4 MWh per MW of capacity during any four-hour period each day within the designated peak-demand window, maintaining 90 percent monthly availability.

To meet these assured supply requirements, the plant will integrate 300 MW of solar capacity with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of about 1800 MWh, making it one of the few projects in India designed specifically for peak power delivery and grid stability.

According to ACME Solar, the project will utilise night-time transmission connectivity in high-irradiation zones in Rajasthan, enabling effective use of existing infrastructure and early revenue generation.

‘Lowest price in a pure peak power tender achieved so far’

Commenting on the award, Rahula Kashyapa, Chief Commercial Officer of ACME Solar, said, “Securing the SJVN FDRE-IV project with peak power effectively utilises the available transmission capacity from night-time connectivity, thus enabling us to realise early revenue. This is win-win for both customer and ACME Solar as it’s the lowest price in a pure peak power tender achieved so far.”

This will also be ACME Solar’s first project to use Indian-made solar cells, compliant with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-II.

Expanding portfolio in storage and hybrid energy

ACME Solar described the win as part of its growing focus on hybrid and storage-linked renewable projects. The company currently has an operational capacity of 2,918 MW and 4,472 MW under construction, including 13.5 GWh of BESS installations.
