New Delhi: Coal India Limited (CIL) has bagged an order for setting up a 600 MW solar power plant at Jalaun Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh, the company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday. The order has been awarded by Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited, a domestic entity.

The letter of award pertains to the setting up of 600 MW capacity, split into two units of 300 MW each, at a tariff of Rs 2.73 per kWh. The estimated project cost has been pegged at Rs 2,831.11 crore.
As per the terms, CIL is required to submit the necessary documents as per the letter of award and subsequently sign the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Implementation Support Agreement (ISA) and Land Rights Usage Agreement (LRUA). The company will also need to submit upfront solar park development charges before the ISA is signed.

The project is to be executed within 18 months from the date of signing of the PPA.
