New Delhi: KPI Green Energy Ltd has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sun Drops Energia Private Limited, has secured new orders for solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 36.87 megawatts (MW) under the company’s Captive Power Producer (CPP) business segment. The disclosure was made through a regulatory filing to the BSE and NSE on Thursday.
The subsidiary has received Letters of Award and Letters of Intent from various domestic entities for the development of the CPP solar projects. KPI Green clarified that the promoters or related parties have no interest in these client entities, and the transactions do not fall under the category of related-party dealings.
According to the filing, the solar power projects are scheduled for phased execution during the financial year 2025–26. No specific client names or financial values were disclosed beyond the aggregate project size.
A part of the 36.87 MW capacity will be implemented in accordance with Gujarat’s Distributed Renewable Energy Bilateral Purchase (DREBP) scheme, which was introduced as part of the Gujarat Renewable Energy Policy-2023. The projects will also adhere to the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission’s Tariff Orders No. 5 and 6 of 2024.
The DREBP policy is aimed at facilitating small-scale renewable developers by allowing solar projects up to 5 MW and wind projects below 10 MW. It offers key incentives such as simplified registration, assured grid connectivity, direct bilateral power purchase agreements at GERC-fixed tariffs, and faster project commissioning approvals.
