Mumbai: Saatvik Green Energy Limited has secured an order worth approximately Rs 13.50 crore from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Ltd (MSEDCL) for the supply of solar water pumps under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM-KUSUM-B scheme, the company said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The order involves the design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of 815 off-grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems at identified farmer sites across Maharashtra.

Order details under PM-KUSUM-B

According to the statement, the contract covers solar water pumps of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP capacities, with the total order value pegged at around Rs 13.50 crore, excluding GST. Saatvik said it will also provide a comprehensive system warranty, repair and maintenance services, and a remote monitoring system for a period of five years to ensure long-term operational reliability for farmers.

Installation and commissioning of the pumps will be completed within 60 days from the date of issuance of the notice to proceed or work order by the respective MSEDCL circle office, the company added.

Company cites impact on farmers and rural energy access

Commenting on the order, Prashant Mathur, chief executive officer of Saatvik Green Energy Limited, said, “Solar irrigation is one of the most direct ways clean energy can positively impact farmers’ livelihoods.”

“This order from MSEDCL reflects growing confidence in Saatvik’s ability to deliver reliable, domestically manufactured solar solutions at scale, while supporting national programmes such as PM-KUSUM,” Mathur said, adding that the company’s solar pump solutions are aimed at enabling sustainable farming practices and long-term energy independence for farmers.

Growing focus on decentralised solar applications

The company said the latest order strengthens its presence in the solar pump and decentralised energy segment, which it described as a key pillar for enabling energy-secure, cost-efficient and sustainable irrigation in the agricultural sector.
