New Delhi: Suzlon Energy has secured a 105 MW order from Sunsure Energy for its S175 (5.0 MW) wind turbine, marking the first commercial order for the next-generation model within two weeks of its launch, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The order is Sunsure Energy's third with Suzlon in under 14 months, taking the cumulative partnership between the two to 400.8 MW. The project will be executed in the Bijapur district of Karnataka.
The scope covers the supply, erection, commissioning and maintenance of 21 S175 wind turbine generators (WTGs). According to the statement, the order "marks a strong commercial debut for S175, reinforcing strong customer confidence in Suzlon's differentiated technology and innovation-led product portfolio."
The S175, positioned by the company as India's tallest and most powerful wind turbine, is powered by a 175-metre rotor and a 160-metre hybrid lattice tower, designed to access stronger and more stable wind regimes for higher energy yields, the statement said. The company said the turbine "unlocks new wind frontiers by converting previously unviable sites into commercially attractive opportunities, significantly expanding the addressable market for wind energy."
