New Delhi: HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL) has announced its foray into India’s fuel retail business with the launch of a next-generation, AI-enabled energy station in Sector 108, Noida. The company plans to set up a nationwide network of such outlets within a year, integrating conventional fuels with alternative energy options and non-fuel retail services.

AI-powered, multi-energy model

The first HMEL energy station offers petrol, diesel, electric vehicle (EV) charging, compressed natural gas (CNG) and free nitrogen. The company said it will use integrated artificial intelligence systems for personalised customer interactions, seamless payments, dynamic fuel pricing and predictive maintenance.

“Our vision is to redefine the energy retail experience in India by introducing a technology-first, customer-centric model that caters to the evolving needs of Indian consumers,” said Prabh Das, MD & CEO, HMEL. “With sustainability and digital innovation at the core, our energy stations will provide not just fuel, but a seamless, value-added pit stop for both people and vehicles.”

Retail and convenience integration

Each station will also feature convenience stores and retail outlets, subject to feasibility, offering everyday essentials, refreshments and automotive services. HMEL said the stations will incorporate renewable energy sources and energy-efficient systems to reduce their carbon footprint.

Dealer enablement and expansion

The AI-enabled model extends to dealer operations, with digital tools aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and service quality. HMEL has invited individuals with freehold land to partner in setting up energy stations through what it described as a transparent and structured process.
