ACME Solar bets big on storage with 3.1 GWh order to power upcoming FDRE projects

ACME Solar has placed a 3.1 GWh battery storage order—among India’s largest—to support its upcoming FDRE and battery-linked projects

New Delhi: ACME Solar has placed a battery energy storage system (BESS) order exceeding 3.1 gigawatt-hours (GWh) — one of the largest such procurements in India to date — the company said in a statement on Monday. The order has been placed with global suppliers Zhejiang Narada and Trina Energy, both known for their high-efficiency and scalable storage systems.

Battery storage to support FDRE and battery-linked projects across multiple states

The equipment will be deployed across ACME Solar’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) and battery-linked projects, scheduled for commissioning over the next 12–18 months across multiple states.

Deliveries planned over the next 4-8 months

Deliveries will take place in a phased manner during the current financial year. ACME said the procurement fits within its budgeted capital expenditure and reflects a balance between cost-efficiency, technical performance, and supplier reliability.

Early procurement to help accelerate execution and revenues

The company noted that ordering early would accelerate project execution and enable timely revenue realisation. The BESS equipment conforms to international IEC and UL standards, ensuring safety, reliability and high performance.

ACME Solar’s portfolio crosses 6,970 MW with 550 MWh storage

ACME Solar currently has a diversified renewable energy portfolio of 6,970 MW, including 550 MWh of storage. Its operational capacity stands at 2,890 MW, with another 4,080 MW under various stages of development. With in-house EPC and O&M teams, ACME claims strong project execution and best-in-class performance in capacity utilisation and operating margins.
