Hindustan Power wins 100 MW solar project from Punjab discom

Hindustan Power has secured a 100 MW solar project in Punjab through competitive bidding, with a 25-year PPA and commissioning timeline of 24 months

New Delhi: Hindustan Power said on Thursday it has been awarded a 100-megawatt solar power project by Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), following a tariff-based competitive bidding process and a subsequent e-reverse auction. “Hindustan Power has secured a 100 MW AC (alternating current) solar power project from Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, to be developed in Punjab,” the company said in a statement.

25-year PPA to underpin revenue visibility

As part of the agreement, the company will sign a long-term power purchase agreement with PSPCL for a duration of 25 years. The arrangement is expected to ensure stable revenue streams while contributing to the supply of clean energy within the state.

Commissioning targeted within two years

The solar project is slated to be commissioned within 24 months from the effective date of the PPA, according to the company. Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power, said, “Punjab remains an important market for us, with steady demand for reliable and clean power. Through this project, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the state's energy mix while further strengthening our operational footprint in the region.”

Hindustan Power operates as an integrated power generation company in India, with a portfolio spanning renewable and transitional energy assets.
