NTPC declares COD for 64.76 MW at Khavda solar project in Gujarat

NTPC Green's 64.76 MW first part capacity at the 225 MW Khavda solar project in Gujarat went commercial from 00:00 hrs on July 24

New Delhi: NTPC Limited told the stock exchanges on Friday that 64.76 MW of the 225 MW GSECL RE Park, Khavda Solar PV Project in Gujarat has been declared on commercial operation with effect from 00:00 hrs of Friday. The project belongs to NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), which is "a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC Limited through NGEL (NTPC Green Energy Limited)."

What the NGEL filing states

In its letter to the exchanges, NGEL said the "first part capacity of 64.76 MW out of 225 MW GSECL RE Park, Khavda Solar PV Project located in Gujarat of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, is declared on commercial operation wef 00:00 hrs of 24.07.2026."

The filing describes the capacity as the first part of the project. According to the company, 160.24 MW of the 225 MW project remains yet to be declared commercially operational.

NGEL group capacity

On the group position, NGEL said, "The current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Limited group stands at 10,721.80 MW. With the addition of the above, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group will increase to 10786.56 MW."

"With this, the total installed capacity of NTPC group stands at 91,030 MW and commercial capacity at 89,950 MW," the company said.
