New Delhi: Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) has won two orders worth more than Rs 985 crore, including taxes, the company said on Tuesday. The first is a 534.3 megawatt-peak (MWp) project in Rajasthan. The second covers two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in South Africa with a combined capacity of 616 megawatt-hours (MWh).

The company did not give separate values for the two orders. Its Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chandra Kishore Thakur, said the wins pointed to steady demand for its work. "Together, these orders reinforce the momentum in our business and the confidence customers place in our capabilities," he said.
The Rajasthan order comes from a new customer, which SWREL described as a leading independent power producer (IPP) in India. The contract covers the balance of system (BOS) package for the 534.3 MWp project.
The South African order also comes from a repeat customer, which the company described as a leading renewable energy project developer based in the Middle East. Each of the two BESS projects has 308 MWh of storage capacity. SWREL will deliver them as a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) wrap project. According to the company, this is the second-largest utility-scale BESS project it has taken on.
Thakur linked both orders to the company's record with clients. "They also demonstrate the strength of our customer relationships, built on consistent project execution, domain expertise and the skilled manpower we have developed over the years," he said.

SWREL provides EPC services for utility-scale solar, floating solar, hybrid and energy storage, and wind projects. The company says its total portfolio is more than 28.7 GWp, including projects that are commissioned or under construction. It also runs an operation and maintenance (O&M) portfolio of 18.3 GWp of solar projects, some of which were built by third parties. The company says it is present in 28 countries.
