The event comes after a year of strong growth in wind installations. According to the ministry, India added a record 6.05 GW of wind capacity in 2025-26, and cumulative capacity reached 58.52 GW by August. A further 28 GW is under implementation, which the ministry said supports its goal of 100 GW of wind capacity by 2030.
Two other ministers will join Joshi at the inauguration. They are Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy and Power, and CTR Nirmal Kumar, Tamil Nadu's Minister for Energy Resources and Law. Senior central and state government officials and representatives of wind energy associations and industry are also expected to attend.
The ministry said the ceremony will include announcements of global memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and the launch of reports on the sector. States that have shown leadership in wind energy will also be recognised.
The organisers expect about 400 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and about 500 delegates. Denmark, Germany and Spain will each have a country pavilion. The programme combines a three-day trade fair and a two-day conference. It also includes technical sessions, round tables, live demonstrations, business-to-business and business-to-government meetings, and an academia connect programme.
The exhibition will focus on domestic value addition, next-generation turbine platforms, heavy-duty gearboxes, artificial intelligence-driven operation and maintenance, and offshore wind. Parallel conference sessions will cover policy frameworks, manufacturing competitiveness, repowering strategies and offshore wind.
